Last Tuesday, I gave an English seminar in Hino Town for inbound tourism. Recently the number of foreign visitors to Hino Town is increasing. So far we have been managing to receive visitors without speaking English, but it would be good if many families learn basic phrases.
Most people who attended the seminar were locals and usually I look kind of weird for them since I am an outsider and am rather different from the people they are used to seeing, but this time the difference was regarded as something to be looked up to.
My background in English teaching appeared to be a little over qualified for the seminar.
By the way, nobody laughed at my jokes. Is that to do with my Tokyo accent? or the fact that my jokes aren’t funny-haha.
