Preparing for Onions

It is time to prepare for onion fields since I am planting onions in about 3 weeks.

For onions, I’m not using Natural Farming, I apply oil cake as fertilizer and I use mulch, too, since it is difficult to grow onions using Natural Farming. I do use fertilizer time to time for other vegetables, as well, but I use vegetable based fertilizer such as oil cake or rice bran, and not animal based fertilizer.

Oil cake I use is called Nabakasu which was produced by a recycling project called Nanohana Project near Hino Town. I use their oil as cooking oil, too.
